The Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau™ (SECB) is categorised into three main divisions, all of which work together to promote Singapore as a leading destination for business and MICE events.
For conventions, SECB provides bidding and promotional assistance, assisting bidders in determining the next open submission date for a bid to host the event, obtaining information on what needs to be included in the bid, and in compiling a bid document. When a convention is confirmed to be held in Singapore, SECB also assists organisers in attendance building at related overseas conferences prior to the actual conference in Singapore. Arrangements could also be made for SECB staff to be present to promote Singapore and field questions on Singapore as a destination.
The Division also works closely with the industry to develop more robust channels and experiences to ensure a continued inflow of business events to Singapore.
The Exhibitions & Conferences Division champions commercial events and works closely with professional event organisers to develop trade conferences and exhibitions as platforms for business professionals to network, exchange ideas and seek out business opportunities in Singapore and the region.
It also works closely with key drivers of the industry clusters, such as associations, media, leading corporations, government agencies as well as the MICE industry, to ensure the successful staging of their events in Singapore.
The Business Tourism Development Division is responsible for the growth and development of a vibrant Business Travel & MICE industry ecosystem of capabilities, alliances and infrastructure. It also manages the SECB’s strategic planning and co-ordinates and initiates marketing and PR activities to establish Singapore’s position as a premier business and MICE destination. In addition, the division aims to look into new ideas-centric events, facilitate the creation and development of new concepts and products to enhance the business traveller experience.
