Festive Street Bazaar

Festive Street Bazaar

What is the event about

Traditional Retail Therapy

Shopping is always a necessity with any celebration, and the Mid-Autumn Festival brings an array of specialty products which you can find all at the Festive Street Bazaar in the heart of Chinatown. Sample traditional Chinese goodies, try on a cheongsam (Chinese traditional dress) and purchase an array of unique souvenirs while you’re here.

With more than 300 stalls occupying the bustling Bazaar, get your hands on all sorts of Mid-Autumn Festival essentials, with the sampling of delicious mooncakes being your top priority. Traditionally, these pastries are filled with lotus seed paste and have a salted duck egg yolk inside, but there are many modern varieties that come in different flavours, even with an ice-cream filling. Fruit fans meanwhile, can try a wedge of pomelo, a large citrus fruit native to Southeast Asia which tastes like a grapefruit, but is sweeter and less bitter. As lanterns are a symbol of the Festival, you’ll literally find a thousand different lantern designs festooned at the Bazaar, along with other colourful decorative items.

Take a little piece of Chinese culture home with you, and celebrate the full-moon; a symbol of abundance, prosperity and good fortune.
