Teater Ekamatra

Established in 1988, Teater Ekamatra is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to producing socially relevant plays. But while it is known for its dedication towards developing and expanding definitions and forms of Malay theatre, Teater Ekamatra does not restrict its work to performances in the Malay language. Instead, it seeks to give voice and visibility to the Malay market in relation to the contemporary local and global climate.

Teater Ekamatra prides itself on cultural pluralism, individual equality and artistic excellence, and continuously reassesses its relevance and contribution to the society. Some of the group’s best shows include In Search of Wonderland and Nadirah.
