As the world’s largest pewter company, Royal Selangor has long been renowned for their innovative designs and craftsmanship. Step into their 3,000 sqft retail space and you’ll be dazzled by the exclusive array of beautifully created pewter products.
For those who are keen to discover more about the history of the company and the properties of tin and pewter, you can always join the guided tours and experience the multi-sensory interactive exhibits. The story of the founder, Yong Koon and his family unfolds at the gallery. Here, you’ll learn more about how they transformed a small pewter shop, Ngeok Foh, into the world's leading pewter company.
If you feel inspired after the tour, you can enrol in the School of Hard Knocks at S$30 per person for a half-hour pewtersmithing workshop. As an apprentice pewtersmith, you will be taught how to create your very own pewter dish the way it was done by early pewtersmiths over a hundred years ago. Upon completion of the workshop, you’ll ‘graduate’ with your very own certificate. If you’re around the vicinity of the Royal Selangor flagship store at Clarke Quay, do check out the School of Hard Knocks - it’s a great place for networking, relaxing and having fun.
