Ms. Martina Navratilova, Legend Ambassador for the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, had a whirlwind tour of Singapore in the lead-up to the WTA Finals happening from 17-26 October 2014.
The hype is growing - Singapore will host the inaugural BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore presented by SC Global, making it the first Asia-Pacific city to do so. This year marks the first of five editions as the much-anticipated tournament will take place from 2014 to 2018.
Come October 17, the eight top-ranked women’s singles players and doubles teams will demonstrate their athletic prowess by taking to the courts at the brand-new sports and entertainment mega-complex, the Singapore Sports Hub. The stakes are high – the prize pool of US$6.5 million is the largest so far in the competition’s history. While players are still vying for points in the weekly WTA tournaments to climb the Road To Singapore Leaderboard, fans can expect top names like USA’s Serena Williams and Russia’s Maria Sharapova to headline the event in Singapore.
Whether you enjoy watching or playing tennis, you’ll be thrilled to learn that the tournament is packed with not-to-be-missed highlights which culminate in ten full days of festivities.
