Island Wonders

Head to MOSH! at the new Palawan Kidz City complex in Sentosa. At this digital playground, your kids will get to see their imagination turned to innovation. Fold and launch paper airplanes at a touch screen to see them come to life in animation, or see your hand-drawn aquatic creatures swim around in the digital aquarium.

Just a hop and a skip away is indoor theme park KidZania, where the little ones can try role-playing in ‘grown-up’ jobs — they can be a banker, surgeon, ice cream maker or even crime scene investigator. Don’t forget to check out the star attraction: a huge, real-life Boeing 737 aircraft, where kids get to be pilots for the day at the edutainment centre.

Museums come alive!

The fun doesn’t stop there. Help nurture your children’s natural curiosity at the family-friendly exhibitions and galleries around Singapore.

Start with KidsSTOP at Science Centre Singapore, where your child can let their inner scientists and explorers out to play. Science isn’t just about hard facts and figures: interactive zones within KidsSTOP will encourage your kids to learn about everything in the world around them, from what causes typhoons to the age-old question of why the sky looks blue.

Your family’s learning adventure continues at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, which exhibits mammal, reptile, amphibian and plant specimens. This includes the three huge diplodocid sauropod dinosaur skeletons fossils in the museum that are over 150 million years old!

For an arty afternoon with your kids, make your way to the Playeum at Gillman Barracks. Fire up their imagination here, where the little ones can get creative with Lego bricks and all sorts of other craft materials. Children can also attend artist-led workshops on a stop motion animation or scrapbooking, as well as drop in on storytelling sessions.

Gardens of Fun

Nurture a love for nature when you visit the many lush gardens within the city with the kids.

Start with Gardens by the Bay, which is home to over 500,000 species of plants. Learn more about flowers, ferns, trees and other plant species through informative signboards spread throughout the garden.

Enjoy perpetual springtime with the gorgeous array of flowers in full bloom at the Flower Dome conservatory. Then, explore the tropical highlands at the misty Cloud Forest, which features an awe-inspiring 35-metre tall waterfall and a ‘mountain’ covered with lush vegetation. You’ll also find seasonal exhibitions such as Christmas Wonderland and Tulipmania held at these conservatories, so be sure to check Gardens by the Bay’s event calendar for more information.

Last but not least, make a trip down to the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Singapore’s first UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a stroll amid tropical plants, visit the iconic National Orchid Garden, or enjoy a picnic in the park by the Symphony Lake. Then celebrate wildlife with one of the many Singapore Botanic Gardens’ workshops for kids, where children get to interact with and learn about the flora and fauna around them.

With sunny weather all year round, it’s always a treat to visit Singapore with all the family. So pack your bags and mark your calendars for these family-friendly activities that await in Singapore!
