Smart nation innovations week - where tech meets innovation
Organised by the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) of Singapore as a Smart Nation initiative, Smart Nation Innovations (SNI) week is back in Singapore from 17 to 21 May 2016.
Encompassing four key events – InnovFest UnBound, Forbes Under 30 Summit Asia, Tech Saturday and Big Bang Data – SNI week is expected to welcome more than 15,000 local and international guests across different communities to share, exchange and learn about disruptive technology, look into the future impact of technology and celebrate the success of young entrepreneurs across Asia.
Hosted by NUS Enterprise and unBound Media, InnovFest unBound is the anchor event of SNI week and will take place on 17 and 18 May at the Marina Bay Sands. InnovFest unBound showcases Asia’s most innovative developments in the media-technology sphere and provides a platform for brands to connect with disruptive innovation and explore Asian opportunities.
The event is expected to garner participation from over 3,000 start-ups, investors, leading researchers, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and government agencies.
Notable speakers, including Sergio Salvador, Head, Global Gaming Partnerships, Google; Steve Leonard, Executive Deputy Chairman of IDA; Yossi Vardi, Chairman of UnBound Digital; and Lily Chan, Co-Chairman of InnovFest UnBound, will share their insights and knowledge on the global tech ecosystem, from virtual and augmented reality, robotics, high-powered computing analytics to other disruptive innovations.
Forbes under 30 Summit Asia
Held for the first time in Asia, the summit will convene honorees of the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, which includes 300 of Asia’s young innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders across 10 categories, who are under 30 years of age.
The summit will feature panel discussions, TED-style presentations, keynote presentations as well as mentorship from successful business leaders. The programme will also feature pitch sessions where selected start-ups have the opportunity to put across their ideas to venture capitalists.
Tech Saturday is a fun-filled tech experiential event open to the general public, from children to the elderly. Held on 21 May, the event this year will enable visitors to play around with new technologies, engage in cool gadget demos, and experience the many possibilities of future tech advancements for people living in Singapore and beyond.
